Ashes Remain is set to release thier junior project this summer. The album is a four song EP titled "Red Devotion". Red Devotion features some of AR's most mature work to date, and yet maintians the hard hitting rock -n- roll feel that is the soul of the AR sound. Soaring lead guitar and punishing rythms, along with drums and bass that play as one sound... all lay a solid foundation for some of AR's most haunting melodies yet. "It's about love... finding it, losing it, fearing it and being rescued by it all over again. Love as a whole is a scary thing. Whether it's between a man and woman, or the love that Gods grace and mercy extends to us. Still, we can't breath without it. Thats what this record is about for us" - Josh Smith. Keep your eyes on itunes and cdbaby.com for what will be the bands hardest hitting release yet.

So, we have literally toured across America since our last update. There are so many stories, but I will try to give you the highlight reel. When we last checked in we were in good ole Ocean City MD and loving it. Today we are just outside of LA and San Diego and still loving it! In-between there and here we have seen so much and grown together through triumph and struggle. As we rolled through Natural Bridge VA we stopped to see the "Natural Bridge".

Upon learning that it cost 12 dollars to see something man had NOTHING to do with making... we promptly drove down the street... parked on the side of the road and climbed down the steepest ravine ever to check it out. A couple of days later we played 12th and Porter @ the Factory and got to hang out with the "Tears of Mars" crew in Nashville. It was great to see our brothers. They are laying down tracks on music row, and we can't wait to hear the final product. Next we sat in at Blues City Cafe on the world famous Beal Street in Memphis. We also checked out Sun studios where Cash, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins got started while we were there. We spent Easter in Amarillo Texas with my brother and his family.

It was 20 degrees and snowing in Texas on Easter! Once we got to Arizona, we spent our first day checking out the painted dessert and Petrified Forest. Then we crawled around the Grand Canyon for a day. Oh yeah we also played some shows and met more cool people while we were there. By the time we got to AZ Ryan and Ben's mustaches could only be described as "GLORIOUS"!!! We thought that was as far west as we were gonna make it this time out. That was when Bob and Debbie from "Amplified Music Productions" in Southern California called us. They brought us out her and we have played 7 shows on the West coast so far.

Rob is still the best surfer. Ryan is becoming an olieing machine, and Paul is mastering the kick flip! I on the other hand, steal Paul's long board and hit the street every chance I get. Jonny surfs and skateboards, but still finds the time to read a good book. We will be playing in Hollywood on May 15th and then we start heading back home. All in all, we have played a lot of music, and met some of the coolest people on the planet. Still we can't wait to get back to Baltimore! We are playing the Recher on May 26th and we hope you will all be there. We miss our hometown friends! Much love from the boys of AR!
